#OnThisDay: In 1968, the Des Moines City Council approved a low income housing community which would ultimately become Oakridge Neighborhood, found in the heart of historic Center Street. For nearly 60 years, we`ve remained steadfast in our commitment to providing stable housing for our residents, and life changing social services available to everyone in Central Iowa. #BlackHistoryMonth
