Oakridge Neighborhood: A Community to Call Home

Safe, affordable housing coupled with wraparound services to create opportunities for individual and family success. A nonprofit housing and human services agency located on 17 acres in Des Moines’ urban core, Oakridge has served the communities’ most vulnerable children and families since 1969. Oakridge is more than just a housing facility, it’s truly a neighborhood, a community of people gaining stability while preparing for the next step in their life’s journey. Welcome! We invite you to learn more about our mission and our stories.
