Oakridge Neighborhood has been selected for Iowa’s first Best Buy Teen Tech Center! Oakridge Studio | A Best Buy Teen Tech Center at Mainframe will officially open to all metro-area teens ages 13-21 in January 2024.

Best Buy Teen Tech Centers are designed to improve tech equity by providing teens who might not otherwise have access the opportunity to explore the world through a variety of cutting-edge technologies – going well beyond a standard computer lab. Teen Tech Centers include tools to help youth explore music and vocal production, audio engineering, digital media, robotics, drones, augmented and virtual reality, 3D printing, graphic design, sewing, engraving and more! Within the space, teens are able to participate in collaborative and individual projects, training and workshops.

Oakridge Studio is located in Mainframe Studios, 900 Keosauqua Way, Des Moines. Derek Frank is the Teen Tech Center Coordinator.
