Secure, affordable housing coupled with wraparound services creates opportunities for success. A nonprofit housing and human services agency located on 17 acres in Des Moines’ urban core, Oakridge Neighborhood has served the communities’ most vulnerable children and families since 1969. Oakridge Neighborhood is truly a neighborhood, a community of people gaining stability while preparing for the next step in life’s journey. Welcome! We invite you to learn more about our mission.

Living at Oakridge
Oakridge Neighborhood provides stable, affordable housing. Our neighborhood is Iowa’s largest Section 8 housing complex with 300 apartment homes. Our campus also includes Silver Oaks, which offers 39 senior living apartments.
Learning at Oakridge
Oakridge Neighborhood provides a wide variety of programs and wraparound social services to support residents and others in the community on their personal paths to self-sufficiency. Oakridge Neighborhood programs are open to all Central Iowans.
